This art practice I am involved in, to me seems to resemble a garden. When I look closely I see projects growing under my devoted care, or is it me growing and being cared for? And if it is a practice grown from care, can I really call what comes out, ‘works’?

I am Maki, a young, queer artist currently based in Arnhem (NL) and Vienna (AT). I often work with questions that come up through living with an invisible disability, although usually that forms a foundation to my work and not the emphasis. Some of the topics that often come up revolve around care, in its many different forms, devotion, wearing, carrying, dwelling, longing, communication, friendships, family and other relationships.
